Gotta Lovett Promotions is doing it again! This time it’s called “The Youth Festival”.
My wife and I have been thinking about this project for years. My 9 grandchildren (my staff) speak of this idea daily. And I have spoken too many of you about this thought.
We love and admire what Chuck Morris and Jan Martin are doing with the Mile High Music Festival, myspace.com/milehighmusicfestival, an AEG Live Rocky Mountain production myspace.com/myconcertsdenver. And what Josh Baker and Matt Fecher are doing with the Monolith Festival http://www.monolithfestival.com/. And especially our recent corroboration with Whisper Fiercely whisperfiercely.net at ECHOFEST @ Echo Mountain http://lnk.ms/15GFZ. Plus many more great concerts outside of Colorado!
But think about this for a moment. There is not a totally youth orientated concert being done anywhere in the world and there are a lot of extremely talented youngsters out there that are established, have managers, or family support, and deserving their own stage. Many of you musicians, or involved in the industry, have children that fit this category.
We were going to announce this idea at the industry get together Nov 8th at Jam Space USA http://jamspaceusa.com/, but after speaking with George and Amy Whitesell, A Music Company Inc. http://amusiccompanyinc.com/ and especially seeing all the kids at our door for Halloween last night, we have decided to let everybody know now.
Albert Loma, Senior Pastor of Victory Outreach Colorado Springs, http://www.vocolorado.org/, Victory Outreach International, http://www.victoryoutreach.org, promotes an event called “Treasures Out of Darkness”. These productions include many live action packed dramas and rap/hip hop concerts; “Shotgun“, “The Ghetto”, and “Cry of the Young” to name a few. Al is currently running for the District 11 School Board in Colorado Springs. Al is well ahead in the polls and will win! But my point is with the District 11 School Board support the venue for my planned event will be perfect.
We are very excited about this project and invite everybody to get involved. Sponsorship for this event is going to be off the chain. I have already spoken with Steven Miller, President of Shell Oil http://www.shell.com/ and numerous record labels and music companies in this market. Friends….the markets are huge! For the first time in my life as a concert promoter I foresee having to turn sponsors and business partners down!
What we are asking of you is simple. Do you know of any music prodigies from any genre from around the world between the ages of 13 and 19 years old that are interested? Please forward this information to your friends, and contact me as soon as possible. We are planning for the spring or summer of 2010 in Colorado Springs, Colorado!
